NY AD AGENCY - Can Taxi toss out a little bone? #U130610TC

Props taxi team! You guys are handing us some pretty cool listings! #U130610TC

My question is for the bad a$$ listing with the power females commercial. Lots of info in the listing and that's great, but one thing that isn't there is a recommended BPM. It sounds like the gals are strutting their stuff in the commercial. It also sounds like taxi has had a chance to see this commercial. Is there a tempo that the ladies are strutting too. Something that you could recommend for a tempo that would match well the feel of the images would be really helpful.

Thanks for bringing us another exciting weekend :D!

Hi guys,

There's no temp music in the spot, and they gave no BPM. This part of the listing gives you the best advice:

5) Genres like full-blown Rap, Metal, Country, Prog Rock, or Jazz won’t work well for this, and neither will stripped-down Singer/Songwriters with ukes or acoustic guitars. We’re sure there are other genres that wouldn’t work well for a girls’ night out kind of commercial, so just use common sense when figuring out what to submit. Our guy in NY mentions R&B, but slow to mid, sultry stuff won’t work for this either. Our GUESS is that energetic Pop/Rock with female vocals will be what works best. Maybe a Pop/Rock song with a 4 on the floor dance beat under it could work.

They're not cutting this spot to music, so BPM doesn't have to be an exact match. It's more about capturing the energy and vibe of what's happening... in this case, girl's night out.

Not trying to be cagey, but that's all we know. It's all the agency knows!

HTH,
Michael

Cool! Thanks Michael, that helps as I'm writing here. Appreciate that quick response!

I'm thinking if they had any kind of R&B in mind it would be something like Brandy's - Put It Down ft. Chris Brown. From the sound of the commercial I'd almost guess more of a really upbeat power sexy urban sound than R&B, but that's the difficulty when you can't get into the head of a music supe. Guess we'll see in the end when all the details are out.

I imagine all the writers/producers are scrounging for sassy powerhouse female vocalists right now :P!

Thanks again!
