I'll try 512 and see. It's been so long since I had to worry about that I forgot about that one.It says at 512 I should have about 5 msec latency.--- GlNo problem. One other thing I forgot to ask, do you have XP set to prioritize background services? If not, you may wanna try turning that on in your System Control Panel.-- N

natallica,I'll check that as well.A new E6850 core duo plus a decent mainboard and 4GB of RAM is about $530. Not sure I want to go there just for Omnisphere. If the pops are rare enough and you can't really hear them in the mix (I know, sacrilege!) , I may just stick it out for a while.Next step is to overclock the CPU a little.

I'm installing right now and one thing I recommend is to install it on a different drive from your system drive. It defaults to installing on your system drive but there are instructions (at least for Mac) to install it on a different drive. This may help cut down on the popping.Mazz

Mazz,Good point. And I did put the sounds on the other drive.I think it's OK now. I haven't heard a pop for a while. It's either when the key is first pressed, or at the release. That's interesting. I wonder why at the release?Glenn

I am only on disc 2 so I'll see if I can figure out anything. I'm running on a G5 dual with 5G RAM so I'm a bit behind the curve processor-wise. I will also install it on my VisionDAW with 8G RAM also and see how it does there.Cheers!!Mazz

I installed the VST Plug-in to my plug-in folder for Tracktion. Then I installed the Omnisphere Core Library files (which are 50GB!), to F drive. It wasn't going to fit on E drive, where I keep all my other samples.I authorized it and then got to work

A couple of pieces I put together.OmniAmbient uses 4 Omnisphere tracks with lots of effects and 3 Stylus tracks, also with lots of effects. On my Dual 2.7 G5 I had to render the Stylus and Omnisphere stuff as audio one at a time because the last Omnisphere track made things go "skippy". This is a pretty over the top experiment anyway, Omnisphere sounds are so big that a little goes a long way. The Stylus tracks are a big boom sound from the Cinematic sound menu, some loops from Metamorphosis played in Groove Menu mode and a bass loop from Nine Volt Audio Stylin Basslines.OmniVoices uses only Omnisphere. The voices fade between a solo boy singer and a choir using the mod wheel. There's a string patch doubled with another string patch that fades in to a music box type sound using the mod wheel. The voice track was improvised first and the string tracks were added after.Just my first couple of hours on Omnisphere.http://www.johnmazzei.com/album/15Mazz

OTOH, as you told me sagely last Rally... one can buy all the toys, but it's having the skill to do something with them that counts... that I'm still working on

Mazz, OmniVoices is very cool, ambient and sweet, yet kinda haunting too. Sort of Elvish in scope. OmniAmbient is eerie but has a sense of action too. Feels like it would be good for a war movie.I was playing tonight too, sketching something out to see what I could do. Had some fun. This is Omnisphere and Stylus. I called it "Deja Vu" because it's electronica with a bit of a retro feel. I think http://www.vikkiflawith.com/audio/VIKKI ... a_Vu.m3uPS - Glenn - I couldn't get your link to work
