Re: On yes or no listing......
It used to be just "yes" or "no" with no other explanation. Then they added a few checkboxes. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. Sometimes it raises more questions but I do like getting some indication of why mine was forwarded or returned rather than nothing to go on.fret17 wrote:Hi....could someone let me know what it means when you get a return from a yes or no listing and the reason was a check in "Recording"....I think the it sounds great on my IPOD....
Anyway, the "recording" checkbox can mean more than a commentary on the overall sound quality. For example, I had a dispatch listing returned sometime back with "recording" checked. I have lots of musical faults but usually sound quality isn't one of my problems. So I emailed Taxi and asked about it (I rarely do this... only when I can't make any sense out of what I'm reading and I need clarification). In my case they said...
The Recording box was checked because the screener felt the bottom end could use more definition and punch for the musical style you have here.
There were other issues too but in the case of the song I submitted that particular comment made sense... it certainly wasn't a case of there not being any way possible to add more definition and punch. So in the end I found that "recording" can cover a wide range of things. On "yes/no" listings, they're just not able to give expanded detailed info beyond a few checkboxes and maybe a quick comment.
Hope that helps,
Dave

I received feedback that my submission wasn't "mastered." I found this curiousand odd given the track/CD was mastered at one of the best studios in Seattle...go figure...
