One little thing

Post by elser » Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:11 am

This isn't really a complaint, it's more of a question. On a recent return I got this remark from the listener, "A few too many comedic sounds for a Reggae instrumental. Some fun stuff, though."Now my question is, can a song be edited and resubmitted for the same listing? I mean, I think in this case it's a matter of submitting one instrument for another. It would be as easy as substituting, say a marimba for the funny voice synth I've got going. Here's the tune.http://web.me.com/jonesler/Site/Music_f ... 6.mp3Tanks mon!

If there's an open deadline for a repeat (or similar) listing, and you've corrected the reason for the original return, then by all means send in version #2!In fact, some folks just re-submit without making any tweaks, and it's gone through the second/third/tenth time (new customer...or new screener). You won't get a chance to tweak and then re-submit for a closed listing though...unless, in a rare case, the song was so perfect Taxi contacted you to discuss exactly that...as in "Hey Elser! Really close on this...can you remove the (whatever) and send us a new version? This song is really what they want..."I've never heard of the "you get a second chance" request for tweaking though...but I suppose it could happen (anyone?).

You have to resubmit to a new listing.

Hi Elser,I actually asked this same exact question to TAXI themselves. Normally, you won't be able to re-submit to the same listing. It's "Submit...and That's It". The critiquers don't actually listen to it until the closing date of the listing, is what they said. HOWEVER, a great recommendation that I got from them was to submit your piece to a Custom Critique (hopefully well before the deadline). If you do so, you can call them and ask that the custom critique be expedited, so you have some time to make changes prior to the closing date. Tell them what listing it's intended for, and they'll hopefully provide you guidance on how to better target the listing.I'm going to take them up on that offer!-Jeff
