AUUGGHHH!!! One week!! I can hardly stand it. This will be the longest week of the year. My objective this year has nothing to do with my already existing music, so I'm basically prepared. Not even bringing a CD this year.

CRAP... my first instinct is that we are doing terrible on our Rally prep. BUT that really only pertains to 2 of our goals. We are trying to finish a song on my 12 year old and work on a collab and time is NOT on our side. Otherwise we actually have quite a bit of new product this year that we can get input on, pitch etc... We are definitely the last minute type people. We work Great under pressure. Thrive on it actually. It's not as fun, interesting, agrumentative if we do things early and ahead of schedule...go figure. SO this will be crunch week, big time.We also have quite a bit keeping us busy, with work, college, school, basketball, illness, a live performance this Fri and getting cues ready for a library that my son belongs too, our studio time is suffering.I can't wait to get on the plane Thurs am.....Whoo Hooo California here we come!!!

I wrapped things up at the mortgage company yesterday and finally got back in the studio this week. If one song I am working on comes together, I'll bring it for a mentor session. If not - I'm going to soak up some rally love and learning this year more than anything so I'll not fret about the lack of CDs.

Vicki, what are you doing to prepare? This will be my second RR. As compared to last year, I have music I'd like to share with a mentor, and perhaps throw a CD in the pitching panel boxes while I sweat in anticipation of them playing it This week I plan on- buttoning up a final song I'm working on- Printing and burning CDs- figuring out the schedule once the breakout class times are announced. anyone doing anything else or advice for newer RR attendees like myself?

I'm so last minute it's ridiculous. I'm bringing a friend this year who has the God-give gift of gab so am planning on introducing him to as many folks as possible.I guess I should prep some CDs to give out and get some more business cards this week! YIKES, it's right around the corner.I am so excited to see everyone again!!!!!

I have my business cards, I have my suitcase on a chair & have been throwing things in it now and then, I'll sort that out on the weekend. I have a little shopping list, have to get my US cash & travellers cheques, and my travel insurance. Have my itinerary and travel information. I've picked out the songs I'm burning for my pitch CD/mentor appt, panel drops. I've made some notes for the panel & class I'm involved in, I need to brainstorm that a little more. So I need to burn a few CDs on the weekend. And somewhere I have my dots.....! I think that's my to-do list... lookin' forward to seeing everyone soon!Edit - oh, yeah, I'm waiting for the final schedule to be posted/announced so I can print it all out and plan my 3.5 days!PS - oh, yeah, gotta practice a couple songs for open mics

MY Rally prep is scaring the hell out of me!!! You absolutely CANNOT believe the number of details, emails, phone calls, arguments, sponsor issues, documents to type, documents to proof 3 or 4 x each, logos to shrink, member questions to answer.... this list goes on FOREVER. Please tell me WHY we do this to ourselves every year??? And it seemed like SUCH a good idea at the time. ;-) See you in a week, but if anybody wants to move it back another week, it wouldn't break my heart LOL.ML
