ONLY MIXING/PRODUCTION TIPS
Hey all,I thought instead of the usual " HOW DO YOU MIX" thread, I thought what about a thread where we share tips/tricks/methods regarding making our tracks sound BIGGER/BETTER...NEW YORK COMPRESSION...This compression method is not to be confused with side-chain compression. The theory is simple, you create a new track in your DAW that receives it's signal from your drums (for i.e.), now on that track you add a compressor, compress the hell outta that drum track e.g. 14:1 ratio, adjust threshold and attack and release so that you hear the THUMP from those drums... Now lower the volume of the compressed track under the original drum track and raise it slowly, you should start to hear your drums sounding BIGGER and BEAFIER, it gives the drums or any track (experiment) a larger presence. Please try keep this thread to ONLY TIPS, TRICKS and METHODS as I think it could help a lot of people learning how everyone approaches their projects differently.Take CareB
