Well... there is progress. Yesterday, I received my signed and notarized contract in the mail.

I was told that I would not receive it until the funding was in place. This signifies that the funds are imminent.

I will soon be in full production of my life's work and heart's desire...

And today is my son's 21st birthday as he celebrates it on guard in Kandahar City, Afghanistan.

Man, am I happy and proud...

You have no idea what I've gone through just to make ends meet through this arduous waiting period.

I'm still enduring it but it looks like I'm on the horizon now about to step into my future...

Well... it's been over three months since the contract was signed and I'm still no closer to getting funded...

While I can't really display a 'need' for the funds, I am systematically being destroyed while time ruthlessly passes... I really don't know why I'm being asked to shoulder such hardship... my 17 year old hugs me every morning and says, "Don't worry Dad, we'll get through this... it's going to happen."

What hurts most is asking him to make sacrifices he never signed up for - I'm the one who has made the decision in life to be who I am and he's pretty much stuck with me for his father... I know he loves me with everything he is but it doesn't make it any easier for me to put him through this.

All I can do is continue to do what I can until the time finally arrives...
