Hi,
I'm sure many of you got the e-mail today with the following listing:
SINGER/SONGWRITER **INSTRUMENTALS** in the style of Jason Mraz, James Morrison, John Mayer, etc., are needed by an LA-Based Music Library that's been on FIRE lately - tons of TAXI member syncs! QUOTING THE COMPANY: "I'm really looking for ANY SINGER/SONGWRITER TYPE **INSTRUMENTALS** that would be suitable for Reality TV placements." Give them TRACKS that evoke the same EMOTIONS as the above referenced artists. You'd be smart to capture the overall sound, vibe, texture, and tone of the rhythm tracks, but avoid ripping them off! ALL TEMPOS are OK for this. Instrumentation must be REAL, AUTHENTIC, and ORGANIC. NO stiff sounding MIDI stuff, please. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are okay.) Please submit one to three **INSTRUMENTALS** online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Wednesday, February 13, 2013. TAXI #S130213IN
I have a song that I'd love to submit that is not too far off from what they're asking for. However, I think it might not feel enough like an instrumental for a song with lyrics (like it would for an instrumental version of "I'm Yours") and maybe a little too much on the classical side.
Would really appreciate opinion's on whether I should submit it for this. To listen to the song, it's in my list of songs on my Taxi profile:
http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/songs.php?userid=31551
It's called "Dave's Theme."
If you can't access it there it's in my Sonicbids profile:

Thanks very much!
Best,
Bobby

Re: Opinion on Singer/Songwriter instrumental listing
Nice tune! But I agree with you that it is probably a bit "too classical" for the listing. I guess you'll never know if you don't submit.
Good luck!
