Opinions on myspace please

A question....what's all the fuss about myspace? I see its huge in the States and more people are talking about it in Europe now (where I am).But when I look at the pages is just loads of people saying 'thanks for the ad' on each others pages. Its like everybody just visits a page in the hope of driving traffic to there page...ie all sellers, no buyersThe pages are an eyesore, and the whole interface is full of bugs. All tech support replies are standard messages which never answer the question asked.In short does anybody else think myspace is a waste of time for indie musicians?
