Oprah Show off the air

Post by peter5992 » Thu Nov 19, 2009 6:22 pm

Good evening:Anyone watching CNN now - the Oprah Winfrey show will end in 2011. Well, that is pretty bad news for a couple of dozen of TAXI members who are working on the show as TV composers ...not to mention all the Oprah fans around the globe of course.Peterwww.summeroflovemusic.com

True, but [Company Name Removed] productions handles more than just the Oprah show, so there should still be quite a bit of music needed.

Well, she's quitting to start her own cable CHANNEL, so there could be plenty of work for the existing team.

It'll probably mean more work as relationships blossom; I expect that Ms. Winfrey will have more time to develop new shows, so the pie will get bigger. Mmmm........pie.

I still remember the first Oprah show I ever saw, back in 1986...Featured were three female guests, who had all experienced some physical trauma. One of Oprah's questions was how feel beautiful in a society pictured beauty as "tall, lean, lengthy, and blonde." The third woman guest WAS tall and blonde, and when it was her turn to speak to Oprah, Oprah commented, "And now for tall, lean, lengthy and blonde." The woman, who had been burned in a fire, replied generously, "I love you too."Oprah, for me, stood out in stark contrast to the only other talk show host Phil Donahue. Whereas Mr. Donahue was an atheistic humanistic uncaring pig, Oprah seemed genuinely caring, maybe even spiritual, and she was a breath of fresh air.I can think of public figures I've admired, and how they're slowly fading off the scene and outta my life. Billy Graham, I have fond memories of him growing up in my childhood. Since 1987 I have wished to get to meet him but... Now HE'S got one foot in the grave.I've tried, since 1999, to get on the Oprah show and, barring some divine intervention, looks like it never will happen. Less than two years left to keep trying... I'm sorry for all the mean things I've said about Oprah, I got issues, but that's really no excuse.Oprah's leaving her show drills an unbearable fact home to me I've always known. Nothing lasts forever. Enjoy the daylight while you got it 'cause the sun is setting, the sky gets darker, and things forever change. One of the fundamental laws of Thermodynamics is this: "All things are winding down."In contrast to Oprah's carrying a noble cause to a noble end, with a second chance to begin anew, I am 37, half-dead, and still ain't got jack-shit to show for it, except for these goddamn aches and pains that have got these clueless physicians even more clueless than they are! There are winners and there are losers, it takes both to make the world go round.

One door closes and another one opens. Oprah will continue to produce content via Harpo. Her network will go 24/7. That's a lot of music, folks.

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Are you sure you're allowed to say "Harpo"?
