Orchestral Samples for Free

Post by anne » Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:12 am

If you are in need of good orchestral samples for free and know how to load them into your hardware or software sampler, here is a great site of royalty free and good for commercial use samples - http://www.philharmonia.co.uk has generously posted free samples of the orchestra. I downloaded some into Logic's EXS24 sampler to learn how to do it and they sound great! If anyone needs help making a sample out of your wav or aif file and they have logic, it is really easy to do - open logic, go to Audio-EXS24 Instrument Editor, then once there click "Instrument - New", "Zone - new", click next to audio file and choose your wav or aif file that you want to sample, then save it as an instrument. It will now be available in your EXS24 instrument list. Much easier than the books make it sound - I hope that helps out somebody....
