The last .45 or so thet are louder but in the beginning they get lost behind the groove.Nice to be thought of....Peace, Geo

Re: out of comfort zone....feedback?
This song is cool, I really like it. Plenty to listen to, good ear-candy too. Maybe my brain is out of sync though because listening to it I never would have guessed it was in 6/4. Heh... In fact I couldn't find the beat. Sorry! I hate when my brain doesn't work. For perhaps my own benefit may I make a suggestion? I'd like to hear a solid-yet-subtle drum loop behind everything else; you have some low-EQ real estate available where a cool crunchy low-pass drum loop would fit nicely. In my opinion. And it would help lumps like me find the beat easier....

Thanks James......good idea about the drums...I will work on it more.....I was thinking of at least adding a part that drops on the 1...it's tricky for me to know when my grooves are too abstract, because when I'm working on it I play it so much that, I hear the groove just fine.... thanks so much for the input...this song will work with all the suggestions.....thanks again, vtbp

VIKKI I GOT ON....Well let me start by saying...Didn't sound like ( SLYDINI ) Just loved sly band stuff... The last band I played in did very similar stuff...I like the style very much.. Now this style...The thing I heard with this track was...music to loud...Voice to low..Thought it was 6/4 time, but never new where u were..I don't know maybe just a little to weird for my taste.. Just wasn't good for me.. I think I'm spoiled with all that great stuff you've been banging out...Sorry I couldn't be more positive on this one, but ha! , Like u always tell me ...Let's move on to the next one... ..Jayman....

The last band I played in did very similar stuff...I like the style very much.. thanks Jay....Slydini is an organic project that moves at its' own pace...I'm always talking about the tortoise and the hare....well....we're the tortoise......and that's fer sure.....I can't make that band crank out material.....it has to dribble...... ...so I get forwarded for listings, and got a distribution deal thru Taxi, and that's all I can do with that......thanks for liking the band....although there is only one song in 4/4.....I guess that reflects my roots of bass playing....I'm trying to create a side-project here at home where I do all the music myself....that's why I'm starting electronica.....I have two songs that are consistently forwarded, and six getting returns (I rework 'til they fly)....I started in Dec2007 and had a broken computer for 2 months..... this forum really helps with the stuff I don't know...Quote:Now this style...The thing I heard with this track was...music to loud...Voice to low..Thought it was 6/4 time, but never new where u were..I don't know maybe just a little to weird for my taste.. Just wasn't good for me..cool comments....alot of "voice is too low" and basically crappy (it's a first, so it'll improve).....I was wondering if I was going too far with the way over the barline phrasing in the vocal......I'm actually not trying to be weird, it's just not weird to me......I want to learn what is pushing the edge and what is over it....oops....you got my life story...had an espresso on the last break at my gig just now..... billgQuote:trywww.taxi.com/vickythebassplayersong: Samethanks everyone...I really appreciate the feedback....tomorrow I'll listen to posts and give you guys feedback...vtbp
