Over 90 placements, a TV Theme song and now a "Go To Guy"
I think I'm finally caught up from the Rally and all the events that happened since so I wanted to post an update about what the last two months have been like for me.
Earlier this year I had a chance to write several cues for a new daytime TV talk show that made it's debut in September (the same one that Lydia Ashton has had MAJOR success with). I ended up signing 40 tracks for that particular show and over the last two months I've had over 90 placements with 17 different tracks being used so far.
A couple of days after I got back from the Rally I got a phone call telling me that one of the tracks that I had written for that project had actually been selected as the theme song for a new show that would be debuting on a new cable network scheduled to launch in Jan 2011. I couldn't believe it! What a way to help battle Post Rally Depression! It was a crazy 24 hours after the phone call as the client wanted several edits and mood variations of the original cue. Gotta say, trying to make an upbeat, happy feeling cue sound sound and mysterious while still keeping the original "hook" was a bit of a challenge but I managed to pull it off and get the files to the client on time but man on man, talk about a stressful day.
Both of those success stories are a direct result of attending the Rally as well as using the feedback that I got from TAXI earlier in the year when submitting to listings which led to an improvement in my overall production quality.
And finally, last week I got an official invite to become a "go to guy" for a library (same one as Mazz and Keith) that I had joined last year thanks to a TAXI forward!
All in all, it's been quite a couple of months for me! Each day it seems like I'm one step closer to making this dream of being a full-time composer a reality so I just wanted to say THANK YOU again to Michael and the rest of the TAXI staff for all they do.

Dear friend...
this makes me SO EXCITED!!! I know how hard you have worked to get to this point - working day and night for months upon end, keeping clear goals and dreams in front of you every step of the way. You are one of the most goal-oriented, hard-working, kind, talented people I know. I know this is just the beginning of your success and am looking forward to see what is to come for you in the next few years.
Congratulations on over 90 placements. That is huge! Congratulations on landing the TV theme - that made me so happy to hear about!!! Absolutely fantastic! And... Congratulations on being a "Go To Guy". Very, very cool!
