PCMCIA cards !

Post by daffsongwriter » Tue Jan 15, 2008 2:38 am

I have a slot at the back of my new Roland E60 keyboard for one of these, didnt come with the keyboard, grrrr. I dont know anything about them or where to get them from, I am presuming they are a device that slots in so I can then insert a Compact Flash or SD memory card into the thing! I hate computers, even though I work with one, but at home I like to steer well clear of computers, using it as little as possible, therefore I am ignorant of memory card facility in keyboards, I know Compact Flash, SD and them silly mini things in phones but thats as far as I so far can be bothered.Any advice for this damsel in distress lol, thanks.

Yep. That's what it is. You can get a card that has a little hard drive on it, or convert it to use those little storage cards. But, the max storage is 4 Gig. If you don't need the storage, don't worry about it!

Oh thank you, glad you said max storage at 4 gig, I was just about to google for a compact flash being more than 2 gig so thank you.I went into a pc shop in our town one lunchtime and described it, we both went on the Roland website and located it at a ridiculous cost, then pasted the description in google and found one for £12.95, bit of a difference from the first quote ha.I have found also that the floppy discs are ok and midi files convert ok to mp3 so anything I want to upload to You Tube or Taxi I can do in mp3 format so that is good. Thanks again for your feedback.Take care and have a great weekend.Daff xx
