The P2P section here will get you 'free' critiques; but if your 'goal' (pardon the hockey ref) is to 'get one past the screeners' -crashgates wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 12:37 pmyes well done, I guess that's why you truly are the great Cosmic (applause everyone)
I can't even get my stuff past the screeners : (
have you considered sending in one of your wannabe tracks for a custom critique? It'll cost you - 20 bux I think it is.
But since it's their opinions that provide the 'assist' to help you 'score', it might be worth it; for future compositions.
2 pennies from The Peanut Gallery.

It's not a case of " getting past " them . It's making music that sounds professional & is useful to the people running the listings. I feel at the moment it's like you can't even objectively hear your own music.
So what did they say, did you learn any golden nuggets ?crashgates wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 1:09 pmyes the screeners have humored my effort for their $20 worth but the results are still just as dismal
Very few of us are, and if we were we probably wouldn't be doing this . You don't have to write amazing music. It mostly sits in the background anyway. But it has to be good, and current sounding ( vintage requests notwithstanding ) and mixed to a certain standard.
I never took music lessons at school, I didn't even pick up an instrument until I was in my 20's. I only really started making music as I like computers and got bored of video games. I don't really know much music theory except what I picked up off Youtube these past few years and I'm a fairly rudimentary self taught guitar and keyboard player. So if I can do it then I figure pretty much anyone can if they do the work. And it IS hard work.

Well then - another option to 'help raise your child', is to reach out for a collaborative partner/co-writer who is willing to help CRAFT the idea into something marketable...crashgates wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 3:04 pmits a bit like the love of a mother for her new born child
no matter how bad or ugly the kid comes out looking
the mother (unless there is some post natal issues)
will always love and protect her child
there is no objectivity about it
remember "run Forrest run"
presuming that is the reason you're here. Consider it 'braces for their teeth', if that metaphor applies. You've gotten a wide variety of suggestions for things to do and/or try.
There's The Collaboration Corner board at the bottom of the forums Board Index. There have been a number of reported cases of 'new horizons' and successes born there.
That's a good place from which to start.
