Why are there no groupies for non-performing songwriters? Life's not fair!

This, just prior to what is now referred to as The British Invasion, sparked and led by who else but the Beatles? So that's today's music industry, the one described above, but you should concern yourself with tomorrow's music industry and start building it today. Start by finding one smart hardworking (hopefully) connected person who believes enough in you and your talent to start working for you now, for what you can afford to pay her now. Put yourself out there and start building a fanbase, because, just like Metallica, the industry will ignore you until they can no longer ignore you. Consider yourself lucky they said no, because they tend to like acts that they can completely control, another reason they likes 'em young. A deal will come when it's mutually beneficial-when you're ready for the next level, it'll be obvious, and the deals will come looking for you.Perhaps someone can tell me why my post required moderation?

I know I got some shit to fix but damn...But the good part is , they told me that if I fix these issues I def need to contact them again!! ha I need some input on this BS and I will also post a picture of myself I guess since my sound is sexy I need to bring sexy back!!Fry... ...point me to your music. Can I hear it?Fry... ...you know what you have here now? Validation. Do you realize how beautiful that is? Do you realize that your anger isn't necessary? You've been told that your music is killer but you are not. Ok. Hurts at first, but sit back and think about that. Think about what you can do. You now know that the industry that "decides your fate" has given you the green light on the tunes. Right?Ok. Do it. Forgive me for saying this, but if your talent is good enough to be recognized by a label.. ..why aren't you doing this yourself?Good looks will take you far, but you can't hum a face.
Nothing more, nothing less, other than Les.

It is SO easy to get knocked down and many times, SO hard to pick yourself back up. Ask yourself WHY you are doing this and WHAT you want to get out of it. Your direction should be self evident then. I think ya rock bud!Good Luck!Keith

Re: People from lables are JERKS!!!
Well, I don't have the right age or the right looks, and it actually is a relief to know that I stand no chance with a major label. My music has always had a style of its own and most of my works don't flow with the mainstream. I can breathe a sigh of relief that I don't have to struggle to climb that mountain and feel all that stress.Besides, I would rather be doing music for films and television anyway. This gives my music a great chance of out-living me. I know that "I" am not the package I am trying to expose to the world, but my music is. My music is what is beautiful deep within me, and it is that beauty that I want the world to know. I want the world to know my music, not me (other than my name.)Timothy S. Thanks for the album!!What a great sound Les, real tight. Just push on the next label, and I would recommend an indie label personally. You'll have more freedom artistically and probably be better off financially down the road because you'll have more bargaining power with a small label.Andy
