Percussion forward

Post by VanderBoegh » Fri Aug 16, 2024 10:00 am

I got a forward for this recent percussion listing.

Here's my track (made back in 2019!): "Debut". I remember going hog-wild on my little laptop bongos for this one, lol.

A Bunch of PERCUSSION-Based INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a great Publisher with an awesome track record of really big placements in TV Commercials for Major Brands!

Please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch. Some non-lyrical vocals like "ahs," "woahs," etc., are okay to include, but not required by any means.

Important Note: You do NOT have to use "found sounds" like ice in cups or keyboard clicks. You CAN, but you don't have to!

Please submit well-crafted Percussion-based Instrumentals with lots of exciting and energetic rhythms throughout. Your submissions should have dynamic arrangements with plenty of forward motion and interest that builds as the piece progresses. Instrumentation should be mainly percussion-based, but incorporating non-lyrical vocal bits or subtle instrument stabs can also work. Please be sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and very realistic.

TAXI Tip: Simpler is almost always better for opportunities like this! Don't try to win "Percussionist of the Year" by submitting complex polyrhythms or too many instruments. Simpler tracks seem to work much more effectively when used with dialogue and voice-overs in TV commercials. Still, please avoid anything that sounds too "looped" – keeping your tracks rhythmically engaging and interesting (without getting overly complicated!) will be key to nailing the needs of this request.

Awesome, Man - had me picturing you leading out ahead of the USC Trojans Marching Band (like Fleetwood Mac did)*.
WTG, "Professor Bongo!!"
You Keep Rockin' It! (don't steal that as a title, now...)
Still a fan down here on Sandy Eggo's little island.

*of course, in your case, it'd be the BSU Marching Band...

Wow. A lesson in cue making! :D :D Sounds great, change ups to keep the ear interested without going off the mark, etc. And the first thing I noticed was when I looked at the waveform and saw the obvious edit points. 8-)

Well done, my friend. Congrats on the forward!

:) Casey
