PIANO-based INSTRUMENTAL CUES: 5 out of 6 forwarded!
Super-stoked to find out I got 5 out of 6 of my piano cues forwarded for listing S220209SD! After not submitting for a while, this was a much-needed lift!
1. Joyburst (Ravel and Liszt walk into a bar...)
2. Blue Waltz (I really sweated the EQ and panning on these Spitfire Albion One strings. I have gotten returns for too much high end on strings, so I really rolled it off here... honestly they sound a bit dulled to me now, but it passed muster. Comments?)
3. Lullaby (Inspired after a zoom webinar where a dad was showing off his newborn son)
4. Midnight Waltz (For this one, the reviewer cautioned me against letting the right hand get too hot in the mix and potentially interfere with dialog, and now I hear it in this track - that's the kind of expert tip I really appreciate for next time - yet, again, it passed muster)
5. Restless Journey (Lydians of the world, Unite!)
Thanks to all who have taught and encouraged me so far, and thanks to Andre Stepanian for the excellent video on how to put links to my TAXI tracks into a Forum posting... something that has always mystified me!

Great work on the compositions and playing! After listening to the first one I thought that maybe I’dI better break out my old Satie books. Very nice! I hope you have a lot of placements.
May I ask what piano vet you used or was that a real piano?
Good luck

Great work, congrats!!
As Meat Loaf would have sung on his next album, 5 Out Of 6 Ain't Bad!
Best of luck, hope you get the call!

Fantastic playing and beautiful music! Congrats on your success, especially after being out of the game for a while.
Something I noticed is that one of your pieces are much busier musically than the listing references. "Joyburst" is beautiful, but an entirely different mood than the reference tracks due to the 16th notes. "Blue Waltz" is also beautiful, but it has lush strings, while the listing specifically states "original Instrumentals that feature piano as their ONLY instrumentation." (listing caps, not mine) Same for "Lullaby" and "Restless Journey." Of the five forwards "Midnight Waltz" matches the listing criteria the best (based on my reading of the details and listening to the references). This is not in any way a condemnation of your success, but I think the things I've described show the subjective nature that screeners can exhibit in emotional genres like this. (Full transparency, my submission was a return, the screener felt it was not rubato enough, they said it sounded quantized, which it was most certainly not.)
Congrats on the forwards for sure! I'd love to hear the track that was returned... your piano playing and composition skills are marvelous.
