Piano Drone..ears pls...

Post by Sunset » Tue Sep 20, 2016 9:24 am

Hi All,

For this listing DARK, SUSPENSEFUL INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed for $3,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor NEW LISTING -- placements in a Horror/Thriller Feature Film with an A-List director and well-known cast. They’re looking for Down-To-Mid-Tempo, atmospheric Piano-based Cues that create a feeling of suspense and intense anticipation. Please listen to the references (provided by the Music Supervisor) for some general stylistic guidance:

“Waiting” by Tomandandy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnXx9PbG1Sk

“We’re Going Home” by Clint Mansell:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lxwaH15-po

“It Catches Up With You” by Trent Reznor:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEWIngn2_eM

Please submit minimal, intimate, Piano-based Cues with plenty of depth and atmosphere. Your Cues should be dark, chilling, and textured, adding a level of eeriness and suspense to the scene. The arrangement should be sparse – nothing too large or overly dynamic. Your Cues can have more elements than just piano, but be sure it doesn’t build into something too full or bombastic. The suspense should build, but the horrific “payoff” will actually come from another piece of music. This is the music that happens just before somebody gets murdered in the shower, not the music that plays when the blood and guts part is actually taking place ;-)

All submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length with Non-Faded endings and a natural decay/ring out. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this use is $3,000. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person hand-picked by the film’s Music Supervisor. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Instrumental Cues online or per CD, no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Wednesday, September 21st, 2016. Hey John,
The mood is right, but one of the questions you ask is about it being too repetitive.
I think you could weave in and out some more elements, some more sounds, and it would make it more interesting.
Just my take.

Henry
