Damiano
Another suggestion is to collaborate with other Taxi members who have production chops to make master quality recordings. I don't make my own recordings and sing horribly... So I co-write (or hire as paid demo work-for-hire) other Taxi members. You can form great relationships here on the forum and at the annual road rally.

There are even pure lyricists here who collab with other members and have their work in film/TV now.

So don't let the lack of production skills hold you back!!

Best of luck!!

Spend time here on the forum. Post your roughs for review and provide feedback to others in the peer to peer section. Get to know people, offer to collaborate, build relationships.

Also the annual Taxi road rally is a great way to build relationships with other members for collaboration.

I can't recall a demo singer offering her/his services anywhere on TAXI. I think you would have better luck contacting a demo firm, and seeing if they offer a choice of singers. I have used demo firms in Nashville, L.A. & Minneapolis, and in each case I had a variety of vocalists to choose from. There is, I think, a certain type of talent that is good at doing demos, and making you sound really good. I was fortunate, and got to deal with some very talented people. Ott

Not at all true, Ott... I have quite a few recordings with demo singers I met and got to know through this forum and the rally. So do MANY others around here. In some cases, that person did the whole production soup to nuts with music and in other cases, just the vocal on top of someone else's production. For example, I just finished up 2 songs on which Nathan Nasby did the vocal.

Craigslist and Twitter have worked for me when it came to finding demo singers.

Casey: Let me rephrase my comment, because I know all about networking, and have had a very successful relationship with a producer I met on this site, because I hung around these boards. I will repeat, I have never seen anyone post, "Hi! I'm a demo singer. Here's a link to my samples, give me a call if interested". I got the impression that Diamano was looking for a specific place on TAXI where he could find demo singers. There's no such place here, though there are all sorts of talented people lurking below the surface. Ott

I also had luck finding collaborators through Taxi Junction. People actively sign up for it, so the folks you find in the database are genuinely interested http://www.musiciansjunction.com/juncti ... ntact.html
