Please rate my NEW AND IMPROVED Science/Technology instrumental

Post by TLovato » Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:01 am

Hey guys! After my previous post, I took a second listen to the reference tracks on # S241222EK and made a new track. The listing is as follows:

Lots of ELECTRONIC-BASED SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a great Music Library with International Distribution and lots of success in Film and TV placements.

NOTE: We previously ran this request as TAXI Listing # D241112NT, but the Library wants to hear even MORE material. If you submitted to listing # D241112NT**,** please send different material this time around.

This Library is searching for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that could be found on a playlist with the following references:

"Discovery Technology Electronic" by cleanmindsounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuYspKS_n8I

"Ambient Technology Background Music" by BlackKiwiMusic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shBOxW0bEJo

"Electronic Future Technology Music" by Robert Lanting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3D9rz3URsM

Please submit well-crafted Instrumentals with electronic instrumentation and a sound that could work for educational programming, scientific documentaries, or technology-related content that would typically be seen on networks like the Science Channel and the History Channel, etc. Your submissions should have engaging motifs and dynamic arrangements that make the track(s) feel like it's moving forward and not too linear or boring. Instrumentation in the general wheelhouse of the references will work best, such as synth plucks, electronic drums, synth bass, etc. Some organic-based instrumentation could work, but the electronic side needs to be much more prevalent. Since these will most likely be used as underscore, please make sure there are no distracting elements or leads that could detract from the dialogue. Please also ensure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality, and modern.

All submissions should be about 2 to 4 minutes long (give or take) with non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks or full instrumental tracks created with AI.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split any upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024. TAXI # S241222EK

The track I want to submit is found here:

As usual please let me know any comments/suggestions/feedback. Not sure if it means anything but I did play the track over a Michio Kaku speech and it seemed to create a pretty nice underscore lol

Just a few opinions here....
- Nice track, right mood.
- The electronic snare might be a little on the aggressive side, so I'd be temped to soften it up a bit (fast attack compressor, limiter or transient shaper) or perhaps try a more subtle percussion sound instead.
- It sounds like the sections repeat (eg if I flip between 54s and 2:04s the sound is exactly the same, and that happens elsewhere in the track too). You might consider using octaves/adding layers/omitting layers/using new sounds/adding perc etc, whatever it takes to provide a slightly different flavour when repeating a section so there is a sense of progression and development (requested in the listing) as well as giving an editor more options.
- Perhaps consider including at least one edit point, and maybe the odd transition element (eg a pink noise whoosh or reverse crash cymbal) when changing sections or re-introducing the track after an edit point.
- Both of the previous two suggestions could also break up the sense of linearity and repetition (also requested in the listing).

I hope that helps, and good luck with the submission. :)
Like it is, and 100% HI

Thanks once again telefunkin! You helped me with my last post and your advice led to the creation of this new song! I just updated the song based off the feedback, I will probably keep playing around with it some more and find the ideal sound but I think I'm pretty close rn
