Ambient/Trip Hop/Haunting Film!

Post by jeffgreenleaf » Mon Oct 13, 2008 11:09 am

Just signed up for dispatch and got 2 forwards!I'm also excited that the publisher screened these submissions himself!Stolen Tablahttp://soundclick.com/share?songid=6972815Boys Throwing Rocks (short version)http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6884 ... ONICA/TRIP HOP/AMBIENT SONGS are needed immediately by a successful Independent Music Publisher who has signed dozens of TAXI writers and has secured tons of Film/TV placements. He’s working on an Indie Feature Film and will need tracks in the stylistic range of Dead Can Dance, Deep Forest, Bel Canto, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, etc. He will be screening these submissions himself and will be looking for tracks that have a great blend of World/Ethnic and Street beats - much like Dead Can Dance and Deep Forest. This film is a dark, brooding and tragically beautiful murder mystery in a style similar to a David Lynch project. You can reference the soundtrack from “Mulholland Drive”, if you’d like more ideas/direction. Vocals are not necessary for this one - if vocals are used, they should be featured more as instruments than lyric-driven melodic lines. The tone should be haunting, with compelling instrumentation and pulsing momentum. If you use samples, they must be original and created/owned by you. NO UNCLEARED SAMPLES, please! The recording must be Broadcast Quality, though great home recordings should be just fine. He splits the license fee with you 40/60 [that 60% is for you] and doesn’t take any publishing.

Great tracks Jeff!!! I submitted & got a return - figured I was a little off target so I wasn't too surprised. Kudos to you!!

Congrats Jeff!If we had submitted I think we would have been off target also. It's good to know what an Ambient/trip hop/haunting piece sounds like.
