My First Forward - Solo Piano

Post by livinthosesongs » Wed Sep 24, 2008 11:18 am

After about 20 high bar rejections I abandoned country and thought I'd give solo piano a try. The first song I submitted got a forward. Who knew I was just working in the wrong genre?Very excited and I hope something comes of it. I submitted 2 songs and one was sent back. Oddly enough I liked that one better but I'm not complaining. If the links don't work the songs are at: www.taxi.com/kirtburcroffHere's the forward:Emilyhttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/158544/Emily.mp3Here's the rejected song:Sunday Morninghttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/164215/SundayMorning.mp3Here's the listing:Y080905INORIGINAL SOLO PIANO INSTRUMENTALS a la George Winston, David Lanz, etc. are needed by a Production Music Library/Publisher that focuses on placing music in video games, interactive web sites, etc. They're looking for the same kind of sweeping melodies and sweet arrangements that one would hear on a George Winston or David Lanz collection. Songs and arrangements can range from thick to sparse, sweetly subtle or exciting - but the performance needs to be excellent and the material needs to be compelling. Only original pieces, please! This company's client list uses material that is often featured in a more prominent role - not just "background" or soundtrack. Your songs must be able to stand on their own while still having the potential to rest as an underscore. Ideally, length of tracks should be 1-2 minutes long. Please have various track lengths (:60, :30) versions available to send onto the company if they contact you, but it's not necessary to submit all versions for this listing. They offer exclusive licensing agreements - licensing fees are split 50/50 with writer, and writer/pub share is split 50/50 (they keep publishers share, writer keeps writer's share). Writer must control all publishing rights. Broadcast quality needed. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than September 5, 2008. TAXI #Y080905IN

I like both, even tho I agree with you, I like the return better!
