Logic Pro 7.2 Question.
Hi,any old timers out there still using Logic 7.2. If there is maybe you could answer me a question. In the instrument window, the one with,Quantize,Loop,Transpose,VelocityIf I were to input +50 (for example) in the Velocity window, does that mean that all the notes on the track will be increased by 50?What I want to be able to do is to make all the notes a consistent velocity.I have looked at and tried to make sense of the transform window and I just can't figure it.Any help would be appreciated.Mick.

Hi Mick,Not entirely sure what you are trying to do and I'm on Logic 8 so this may not be of any help at all.......(not sure how similar they are). Do you mean you'd like to increase all the midi notes on a track by the same increment? If so (and this is only one possible way) - if you are in the piano roll view, then select all the desired midi notes, then select the 'velocity' tool from the menu (all notes should stay selected) and click on a note and move the mouse upwards - this will increase the velocity of all selected notes. You can also use the "2nd" menu to select the velocity tool - in which case, upon clicking on a note, you have to hold down "command" too.......Alternatively, if you want every note to be the same velocity - then that's 'Window>Hyper Editor>select the 'line' tool>and click away in the velocity area to level all velocities.........Apologies if you knew all this and if it has nothing to do with your question Hope you sort it,Rachel

Re: Logic Pro 7.2 Question.
I'm still in Logic 7.2 Mick. If you add +50 in the window you're talking about, it will only add 50 to the notes who's velocity levels are low enough to add that much of an increase. If you have 1000 notes, and most of them are below 50 on a velocity scale, adding +50 will work fine. But if just one of those notes already has a velocity of 127, you trying to add 50 points to all other notes, using that particular window, will NOT do anything. That window will only allow an increase in velocity to the entire group of notes on that track. You'll need to use the event list or another window like Rachel was suggesting if you don't know if all your note events will allow their velocities to move that much.hmm, I wonder if that helps at all?

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply.Always great to hear from you. I must admit I didn't really know how to phrase my original question but Rachel seemed to instinctively know what the problem WAS!!!!!( thanks again Rachel).BTW,did you get my reply about Bonnie Raitt on the Sue & Steve Show?Mick.
