Dave, When I had my Firebox I noticed the same thing. But I stopped noticing it when I acquired one of those cheapie Presonus TubePRE preamps to boost the signal before it hit the Firebox.

Dave,I've hit the nail on the head - you have a poltergeist.... but in seriousness, I will be laughing my head off if getting a higher signal in achieves success - because I think my first few posts said "get a decent signal going in"... but alas... I'm South African, what do I know..? hahahahaMan I'm full of it today....

So as not to start a new thread I'll ask the question here:Does anyone know what causes the metronome to bleed into other tracks in Sonar? It does in fact happen with instruments too, but the metronome is most noticeable.

Can you give more specifics like, I don't know, kind of the whole situation I guess.

Thanks Dave.If I use the metronome to create a click track, I find that track is bleeding into subsequent tracks. This is when using direct instrument plugin and not a mic, so it's not the headphones leaking into a mic.I did an internet search, and it seems quite a few people have had the same problem, but no answers.

I once had this happen to me when I had selected "What you hear" as the sound source. I apologize for not being clearer but I'm not in front of the program right now, I don't use the metronome anymore, and with my new setup this "what you hear option only shows up when I use the export function. Yeah, maybe I'm not helping much, but I hope this observation will spark a problem-solving idea for you.My other observation about noise may not help in the present situation, but I recently developed a loud hum through my powered monitors (the hum didn't sound in my recordings) after I moved the gear around in my studio. The problem was solved instantly when I plugged the power to the monitors into a power strip that was plugged into a completely different outlet in the room.G'Luck T' Ya,Allen

I've only seen that "what you hear" option in export too, but I will dig deeper.Quote:The problem was solved instantly when I plugged the power to the monitors into a power strip that was plugged into a completely different outlet in the room. Thanks again, but I'm getting the same problem through the headphones.

THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS BACKGROUND NOISE!!Ok, slightly off topic but a TRUE story:I was at a half-day business training presentation event for work, (yeah, I sttill have the day job) with 50 other folks in the typical hotel small conference room, with the typical lousy acoustics. The two fellows sitting behind me were having an annoyingly distracting conversation (and commenting on #$%ing everything) continually for the first 90 minutes. I was getting angry, and I kept thinking of smart-ass things to shut ‘em up. “Hey I’m glad you two are in touch with your femine sides …” - or - “About the chit-chat, guys, I don’t mind the chat, but could you knock that chit off?” etc. Seven years ago, I edited the book "You Can't Make Me Angry".. and learned a LOT in the process. So, I finally I came up with a solution: At the break I turned to them and said, “Fellows, you both know that I’m a musician, right? Well, one part of playing in an ensemble is that is that I have to tune in to all the parts the others are playing. So for me – there is no such thing as background noise. I know it’s MY problem, but it would be much easier for me to hear the speaker without having to filter out other conversations.” It worked.
