6 string to 12 string?

anyone know of a plugin that makes a 6 string guitar sound like a 12 string guitar? I know the "pog" will do it but that's almost $400 . . . I'm talkin' very cheap or even free . . .Thanks!

Other than that suggestion and using "chorus" there weren't any specific suggestions.

I'll go have a look Dave #1.Thanks Dave #2, the capo idea might work. I've tried about every chorus setting & that's not really doing the trick.

I think the capo idea is a good one!Either that, or sample David Crosby's 1st solo album, Jimmy Page, Steven Stills etc. Seriously, what is a "Nashville 'High Strung' Guitar?" I've heard about that, but don't know how it works. Ern P.S. Just looked up "High Strung Guitar." You buy a set of 12-strings, and just use the 6 high strings. That might do the trick!

Try a capo, but not at the 12th fret...that's too hard to play. If you capo to something like the 5th or 7th fret and play the corresponding chords, you will end up with a very blissful sound, although not precisely an imitation of a 12-string.

I did the Nashville strung guitar and it works very well--if you have a spare guitar. Even a capo at the third fret will give you a fuller sound, but 5th or 7th is better if you have a boomy box like my Guild. My dear wife brought home an Alvarez Blond Balladeer from a pawn shop one day. It's a small maple guitar that has very nice high tones with very little bottom end. That's where it's at for me at the moment.

I have one guitar that is strung Nashville. It is great for nice even strumming and some fingerpicking.

One thing to remember about 12 string is that only the lower strings are strung in octaves, the upper strings are unison, so I think doubling the part with a Nashville tuned guitar is probably gonna get the closest. What about renting or borrowing a real 12 string?
