Your best bet will be to find a fiddler that needs a drummer and trade favors. Good luck!

Hi Big BlueI agree with the idea of hiring a live player for that authentic fiddle sound, but if a VI is in the cards, take a look at Quantum Leaps "Gypsy". I haven't personally tried it yet, but my guess is you could get a lot out of the Legato mode with the violin and a bit of keyboard technique.http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=57hqPPKxsyYMewman

Sorry to take so long to respond, been busy trying to get this project wrapped up! I've got a friend who know's a guy, lol, sorry couldn't help but laugh at that. But seriously, a friend at work just gave me a number for a guy he uses here in town so I'm gonna give him a call and see what we can work out. Thanks for all the help!flood... Thanks for you gracious offer, but we need them shrink-wrapped and retail ready. But I really appreciate the offer!-Big Blue

I was gonna suggest this.Standard session rates arent all that expensive and a good player would be worth the money for sure.M~

I was grocery shopping and, in my usual daydreaming state, I was thinking about a song I have that needed a fiddle player as the lead instrument. When I came out of the grocery store, there next to the door was a street musician playing the fiddle! He came to my house, learned and recorded the melody I needed for $20. I never would have even asked him to play it if it weren't for this thread; I'd have continued looking for sample packages and spending far more so thanks for starting this. I'm mixing that track today : )
