I mean 90% of professional studios and engineers don't spend more money to use the platform because they are stupid. The closed system of Pro Tools allows for heightened stability for the day to day grind of a system often pushed to capacity where crashes lead to loss of revenue. My workhorse system is incredibly stable and I often push it hard and fast because of the pace of agency work. There's also the added benefit of the wealth of consumer tech support available because so many great engineers use it, and many of those will have the same or very similar hardware configurations because it is such a closed system. It could very well be argued that more use it more because it is so used rather than because of the quality of the DAW platform itself, but for whatever reason, there is more of a wealth of info out there simply because more pros use it.I've said before, there's not one size fits all and PT is not the best solution for everyone, but the benefits of a "closed" system should not be discounted either.Aub

I have been engineering for 25+ years and used many different platforms and DAW's. I have never found anything that I could not do easily and efficiently in PT. Also, the universality is a major plus for many reasons. If you need a less expensive DAW, that is understandable. Whatever works best for you is a personal choice. However, I don't know of a single reason you would need anything else. Wodinlord

Hello members I see that folks have a Pro Tools and other DAW's fight going on here and that'a all good, but before any of these DAW's that you are talking about if you had purchase a Mac Plus about 20yrs ago there was something called Opcode that was ripping everyone's but and it was the bomb but I have Pro Tools as well as Logic I use more of Logic and the reason why I saw that someone had said that Logic is more for writers well if you dig more in to what you have if you have Logic will find out that it is more than just what you say it is If I had let you a track you could not tell the diffrence weather or not if I used Pro Tools ot Logic is all about how you use what you have but what Iwill say that Pro tools was the worst when it came down to the Midi it has gotten a bit better but you guys be Bless have a good day love the conversation blog here see ya in LA.

Oh Mylanta. You mean you still have people out there who actually believe that and is still spreading it around. Man.What everyone has said is quite true. It really is personal preference. I've tried PT and I can't stand the interface. Same with Logic. But that's just me. They definitely get the job done. I love Cubase's interface and have no complaints in the years I've had it and I'm not about to change because of some defacto idea that PT is supposed to be IT when it comes to DAWs. It is overpriced and since I use a large portion of outboard gear for my composing, unnecessary. But again, it's personal preference. All of us here know the deal when it comes to this. So the guy that made that silly statement may be a pro songwriter but he's definitely not a composer or engineer. Madonna has been in the music for over 20 years. Doesn't mean I want her to mix my next jam.Jude 2
