DAW stands for Digital Audio Workstation and can be anything from a PC with software to stand alone recorders. What is right for you depends on how you like to work.

ah well the cheap kinda standards, you mainly do rap if I rememberkinda standard issue has been a shure sm58 dynamic and a rode nt-1a, lot of people have gotten results from them, you probably want a tube pre-amp as well, even a little cheap one, its just a 40 dollar tube preamp sounds better than a 400 dollar emulator in most cases. if you have software and stuff, do you use your mixer for routing? or mixing, cause theres some nice usb control decks to run programs and what not, If you need the hook ups and stuff too, I would suggest determing all the in's you need, and then getting a mixer with 2-4 extra channels, I can't really name specifics, cause you know more about what you want, but check a bunch of reviews for stuff in your price range at the big online stores and you should get a good idea of whats gonna do it for ya.
in the time of trumpets and guitars, there was an oboe

The 112% APR sucks though. That APR kicks me in the nads, granted over a 5 year period I'll be paying the excess of £5, but that £5 could buy me (think of something traditionally british) hmmmm Baked Beans!!!
