I guess that is another economic delay for the trip to Ecuador! I have the Dell 22 inch and love it. Spacious views of all my midi notes.

Sorry if I sound like a snob, but one of the best toy investments I ever made was the Apple 30" monitor a couple of years ago. They're much less expensive now, in fact I just looked and the Dell one is down to $1200 - still not cheap, but really worth it if you work on these silly machines all day. You do a lot less scrolling and window-switching.

Hey Dave,Congratulations on your new monitor! I just bought an HP 24" that will pivot into portrait mode for working on scores (haven't tried to do that yet, though). But it's DEFINITELY worth having a larger monitor, IMHO.Best Regards,Ern

Re: Woo-Hoo! Monitor is broke!
I have a 15" and 19" flatscreen on my computer - does that mean I have 24" now? BTW - is there a way to disconnect the different areas of the screen from the arrange window? I would love it if I could have my loops and different tools always come up on the square monitor, and just my tracks and inspector show on my portrait sized monitor. Love some tips on that one : )

If you're especially well endowed in the monitor department, Anne, you could make a screenset with multiple linked Arrange windows set up differently. You can't tear off parts of them, but you can shrink/expand the track name area, show/hide the Inspector, set up different track sizes, etc.

Re: Woo-Hoo! Monitor is broke!
Funny, same thing happened to me last night. My laptop screen stopped working. We're going to just get it fixed on Sunday. New keyboard to boot since the keys over the CPU area have stopped working from the constant baking.I was hoping my wife would relent and replace the Windows machine with a nice Mac. No such luck. She prefers the 6 year old clunker. Oh well, it keeps off my studio Mac so I do more music!
