Bosendorfer notes not sounding out
Hey all,Whenever I export a song that has some piano made with bosendorfer in it, some of the notes dont ring out for as long as they should. Has this happened to anyone else before or does anyone know why it is doing this? It is getting really frustrating!!!My DAW is Sonar 6 & I have 2gig of RAM, if that helps at all.Thanks,Sam.

Re: Bosendorfer notes not sounding out
Hey Sam,I kinda get the same problem with my setup (Reaper), whenever I export directly to MP3 I get the problem that sometimes some of the instruments don't trigger properly, but I find when I export to Wav first then create a new project and import the wav. file then export as a mp3... it works for me... hopefully it'll work for you.Take CareB

Some plugins and sample collections require that you bounce in 'real time' as opposed to 'offline'. If you've been bouncing offline try bouncing in real time. Or try bouncing to MP3 at a higher resolution, 192 or above. I can see how bouncing to lower resolutions might cause complex piano samples to come out truncated.Best, Elser

I assume you are saying that this problem only occurs with your Bosendorfer virtual instrument even when you follow the identical procedures you do with other virtual instruments. Could you tell us what is the name if the pluggin that provides your Bosendorfer sound? Perhaps there is something unique with that pluggin we need to look into. Without knowing that, I'll dive in and suggest a couple things....Right or wrong, I have certain habits for exporting that might be different from yours, so maybe you could check yourself against what I do just in case. I always start an export by first selecting "all". I never begin by only clicking on the individual tracks. If there are tracks I don't want to include in the export I always just mute them or archive them. Next I deselect time ranges that I don't want in the exported file by clicling in the timeline bar **but** it is possible to miss a critical parameter that is embedded at the beginning of a track if you're skipping something at the beginning. I draw a lot of envelopes so I make sure all of the "nodes" are included at or after the beginning of highlighted range. You might check the "Event View" of your Bosendorfer track to make sure there's nothing omitted from your export range. I'm thinking with my procedure you won't be accidentally missing a critical parameter at the start of your project or that is in a track or buss you might be skipping.Next I always double check the options in the export window. Is it possible that there is an important "mix includes" option that isn't enabled? Also, is the default Source Bus chosen? If everything I'm suggesting turns out to be a waste of time then you have a couple more things to check out. First, aimusic has a good idea. Second, there may be something in your pluggin settings we could investigate once you tell us what it is. And last, you might trying bouncing your Bosendorfer track to audio BEFORE you export. You might find that bouncing to audio doesn't work any better than exporting. If so, at least you isolated the problem as being something other than your Export options.Feel free to send me a personal message if nothing helps.Good Luck: I'm cheering for you!Cheers, Allen

Thanks guys, I figured it out, after much frustration! The quick bounce option was clicked, so it was always chopping off some notes, but its all good now!
