Violin instrument made with Kontakt3

Post by rnrmachine » Thu Jun 19, 2008 6:13 pm

Hey guys, I got a bunch of free samples from Philharmonia Orchestra and I put them together with Kontakt 3. It was a HUGE task as I never did this with Kontakt before AND I had to DL every note at a time. One at a time that is. Soft, med and loud, some were missing. So it was a BIG learning experience. Anyway, I put a lot of work into making up for missing notes etc... also, trying to get the samples to line up with the actual note being played. The sample in ALL cases started before the note itself started so each one had to be edited. I apologize if you find something I missed or find the instrument a waste of time. I do not think it is, on the contrary, I find it to be quite wonderful.Link to instrument Download Violin instrumentI will put up a couple samples when Broadjam's upload is workingEDIT: I tossed a sample on my Taxi space.. will have it up for a a lil while. http://www.taximusic.com:8888/r/rnrmach ... mp3.m3uBTW, my selfish side would prefer if I didn't share this, I am sharing this because I care about people and I know how hard it is in this world of music... so I happily share it when I have every right to keep it to myself. If someone, sitting at their comp reading another Taxi rejection because the violin sound "synthed" then I pray this helps you.Rob

Is this a legal download?

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

In other words, you have the right to use them, but they are not for re-sale.This means that the samples are free to use for creative musical purposes. Even if you use them to create a No.1 selling CD (in fact we hope you do), we will not make any charges or any claim for royalties. As long as you have made creative musical use of the samples you can do as you wish: we only insist that the original samples must not be sold to anyone.NB Simply changing the samples into another file format (eg from mp3 into wav) does not constitute 'creative musical use' and will not give you the right to sell a sample. SOO, if I tried to sell this instrument to anyone THEN I would be breaking their standards and thus be illegal, I would think. I was very happy they took the time to record them so I felt to do a favor in turn would be to share what I did with anyone and everyone who wants. It seems to be their motto and who am I to not continue with it... I made this instrument, from plain jane mp3 downloads.. I had to DL each note at each dynamic seperately. Like I said, some were missing which made it even more difficult, but I felt the need to share this with other musicians.. who may not have a decent sounding solo violin. It will not replace the expensive libraries out there but to me,,, for samples that started out as mp3's they sound pretty dang good and real... key thing here is REAL!!Plus, there will be 2 more instruments to come IF people seem interested.. a short version and a long note version... MAYBE a forth with "special phrases"RobHere is a link directly to their "samples" page...http://www.philharmonia.co.uk/thesounde ... libraries/
