Hey Aimusic, it was one of your post about Reaper that got me over there. I spent a few hours yesterday working with Reaper and I'm done with Sonar, getting banished from my computer system. I must of found about 5 new things that Reaper does, totally useful cool things without even reading the user guide. Just stumbled onto them by asking myself, how should this work, and Bingo Bango Bongo, it works like that and maybe a little bit better.Big thanks to you for bringing up Reaper in one of your posts.

hmmm. well I guess I should tread lightly here. The thread subject is "one mans journey", and I certainly don't have a problem with you posting your opinions, negative or positive about any DAW. As one travels the wild world web one finds each forum has it's own "social norms". My observation is Taxi's forum is one of pleasant cooperation and encouragement. You find little confrontation or debate. Critical statements are frowned upon. That's not good or bad, it's just the social norms established by the critical mass here.Knowing that, it's best to respect it, and approach this forum in that same manner. Tell people you love Reaper, and leave Sonar out of the discussion. If you want to provide the bloody details, head over to KVR or gearslutz. And just so you know, I used Sonar for many years/version and left it for Reaper (actually a combo of Reaper and Live). But my experience is personal... thats my computer, my hardware, my vsts, my workflow, etc. People report both great success and great failure on both sides of the fence. It boils down to what works for you. peace!

Hmm, not sure if Craig Anderton could or would have an unbiased opinion of Sonar or Cubase, for that matter, seeing as how he's been using them (and Ableton Live and just about everything else) almost since their inception. Seems to me the folks with the least bias are those with the least experience. I don't see any reason for anyone to be insulted by someone else's opinion about his/her choice of DAW. It doesn't matter at all how well informed the reviewer is as long as he's being honest about his impressions and his experience level; any intelligent reader will consider the source. I don't believe hotjams needs significant working knowledge of Sonar to determine whether the folks at Cakewalk will pick up the phone. crs7string, would you have gotten pissy had hotjams insulted your hammer? They're just tools folks.
