The 7CG has become my "go to" piano for some time now. I love the "feel" of it when played from an 88 key controller. It's really the best I've tried for my particular style and needs. It will take up some hard drive space but it's worth it IMO.Go Chuck, Go!!!Mazz

Thanks for the heads up, I'm in the process of buying a Malletkat midi xylophone so I'm putting together a collection of orchestral percussion samples. Can't go wrong for $7.50. Also bought 'The Emperor' piano, been scratchin my chin over that one for quite a while.Elser

As a longtime Tori Amos freak, I suspect I'll have to buy a Bosendorfer kit at some point. For now, I'm enjoying the Floyd Cramer vibe of Garritan's Steinway sample set.

I've spent the whole night trying to install the Emperor bosendorfer into my EXS24 and just finally gave up. Their site is crazy with updates and no real order to them. Hope they can straighten it out for me via emails. Reading the product description more closely I'm now starting to think that the pedal won't work in the EXS24 version as well. I'd be careful buying anything from them unless you know someone who's got exactly what your looking to buy and you know it works.

Elser,I downloaded the Marimba from SampleTek and went down a similar path of frustration.I finally found a forum speaking of their libraries. The downloads are in the file format rar.You have to unzip the files to be able to load them. After unzipping you can see the wave files.I Googled StuffIt and downloaded their free version (this was mentioned in the post I found)to unzip the files.(I use Kontakt 3 , not EXS24, so this info may not work for you)I was pretty amazed that there was no documentation anywhere on SampleTek's site to tell you how to do this. Normally, there is a FAQ section somewhere on a web site of this nature.At any rate ,I did get the Marimba loaded and up and running.These kind of experiences with technology make me want to just play acoustic guitar. Hey Chuck, I got past the unzipping part. It was strange though, the files I ended up with on my desktop were .rar.txt files and they opened up as text edit documents. After removing the .txt from the file type they did unzip as they are supposed to.Now in the resulting folders I have the .exs files which is the file type that maps out the piano for an EXS24, in that folder, for every .exs file there is also a duplicate for each. For instance, Emperor full.exs and Emperor full.1.exs, as if in the unzipping process it created it's own duplicate for each .exs file. What's really crazy is that in the Emperor full.exs file there are 0 kilobytes of data, there is no mapping, but the Emperor full.1.exs file contains the mapping data, but the EXS24 won't recognize it because of the .1.exs file name.So I go through all the files, trash the files without any data on them, remove the .1 from the supposedly good files, load them into my EXS24, the EXS24 recognizes the files but won't load all the audio files to make the patch work, i.e. not all velocity layers are present for every note, stuff like that.I'm thinking this company has one team of guys that are doing a great job at going out and collecting great samples and another team who's writing the software side who are drinking to much Swedish beer and not showing up to work on time.Frustrated, Elser

I got the 7C and it is AWESOME! I do have one problem, tho ( and I wrote to them a week ago and so far, no answer) it says:The folder called “SampleTekk 7CG” contains files that you’ll need to play 7CG using thebuilt in convoluting effect in Kontakt 2..1. Locate the folder where you’ve installed Kontakt 22. In that folder, you will find a folder called “presets”3. Open that folder and click down to “effects/convoluting”4. It’s in the “convoluting” folder the “SampleTekk 7CG” goes.Well, I have Kontakt 3 and I dont see anywhere a folder called "presets". If anyone knows where I install this, please let me know.

The SampleTekk site states that the minimum requirements to run the 7C is a 3gig PC with 2 gigs of RAM ...or Mac equivalent. I have a 2 Gig imac. Does that mean that I don't have enough speed to run this sample on my EXS24?Mewman

If EXS24 does disk streaming then, IMO, it shouldn't be a problem but don't take my word for it. I think RAM is typically more the issue, even with disk streaming, since a certain amount of the sample is loaded in to RAM anyway.BTW: I run a dual 2.7G5 and I run 7CG every day with no problems in Kontakt 2 as a plug in in DP 5.13.Good luckMazz
