Digi 003?

Post by eokamura » Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:27 am

Hi All,I'm thinking about getting a digi 003, anyone out there use one? Thoughts on that versus something like the apogee duet with Logic? I'd rather stay in Pro Tools as I'm more familiar and comforttable there and yes I've spent some time with Logic as well, just seems like PT suits me more. Any thoughts are appreciated. Cheers, eo.

I have it and I thinks it's great. I use it with both Pro Tools and Logic and don't have any complaints. Is there anything specific about it you wanted to know?Dan

I've got a Digi 002, and think it's great. It's nice to not have to use a mouse all the time! One problem that my 002 had that I hope Digidesign fixed on the 003 --- the power supply went bad 3 times! To Digidesign's credit, they fixed it for free each time, even when it wasn't under warranty anymore! So they knew that it was a bad "design." HTH,Ern

yeah, mines like a yearold or so (my power supply blew on 002 so i just upgraded) and its been working perfectly, I get some use out of it too, like hours, daily, so you can say its been rode pretty hard. I love the thing though, I use it for everything I can, only thing that ticks me off is the new knobs, they make me sweat about transportation, because they widen at the end, and I dont feel like having them break off on me.other than that, its all pretty killer

Thanks guys. Specifically interested in a/d conversion and how it compares to products from apogee, rme and such. I'd rather stay in pro tools but if the sound quality is significantly better with other hardware I'd be tempted.

I think Mercenary Audio has a converter shootout CD, but they charge money for it.

I wonder if the Digi 003 would work with CUBASE.I know some people says that Digi 002 doesn't work with cubase but I've seen it working perfectly with cubase on Dominican Republic. So, has anyone tried to use Digi 003 with cubase?
