What does G$L stand for? Yeah, I heard about that Sting bass.

G&L is George Fullerton (the G) and Leo Fender(the L)This is the company they started after selling Fender.Chuck

Early G&Ls are the shiznit. Some have Leo's signature inside, and they're way easier to find than a 60s P-bass. Cheaper, too, and the quality is at least as consistent. They're less noise-prone, and sound great. Carvin makes a real nice bass, too.
