Hi Michael, I'm not sure about your EW instrument but in RMX it works like this. When you press the 'automation' button you'll see a pull down menu for each track (I'm guessing you're setup multi-timbral) which is set by default to 'volume'. When you press on that pull down menu you'll then be able to select any automatable parameter for each given midi channel in your EW instrument. Select the desired parameter on the correct midi channel and begin drawing away or recording or however you like to do your automation.Hope that works for ya, elser

Hi Michael,It depends on what you are trying to automate with EW??But I am going to assume you are wanting to automate Expression, volume, Timbre etc coming from synth itself?? If so don't use Logics automation as this will always result in your problem. Assuming you have set up a multi instrument in the environment to enable multi-timbral use. Select your multi instrument, say violin, and use logics Hyper Draw to automate the synth. For example CC11 in EW Platinum controls volume allowing you to automate the volume of each multi individually without it effecting the other multi instruments.Obviously if you want to automate reverbs and things like that that can the be done in the normal way but would be on the master instruments channel were EW synth is loaded, only thing here is automating the master channel effects all multis.Try Hyperdraw I think it will solve your problem and of course you can use hyperdraw in the arrange window just like the automation features or within the matix editorHope this helps you
