R&B/Pop Drum Samples?

Post by tuite » Mon May 12, 2008 6:25 am

I`m looking for really good quality drum samples for R&B/Pop music like the samples in Chris Brown`s song "With You", Rihanna`s "Take a Bow" and "Hate How Much I Love You", "One Republic`s "All I Need" or any of Timbaland`s stuff.Anyone know where I can get them? Any good sample CD`s?

Reminds me of Mazz's post in another thread: 'It's not the tools as much as it is the ears'. Happy surfing

"Hip Hop Exotica" and "Neo Soul 2" from Big Fish Audio have some cool drum samples, you can check them out at bigfishaudio.com.And in the interest of full disclosure, I worked on both those projects...

Hey tuite,I guess it really depends if you're after real drums, or synthesised beats. Sony have a good range of acidized loops, and at least you know you're getting the quality that's needed....http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/loo ... .aspcheers, niteshift

I would tend to lean towards Big Fish Audio's material as what they produce it QUITE good. One of my producer's uses them. Personally, I have enough to play with in Battery, FL Studio, and my outboard sound modules so I don't buy sample CDs even though I could and just fire them up.One thing I would do is look for an Emu Mo Phatt sound module which you can get for maybe $150.00 on Ebay. That's what you're hearing mostly along with some Roland stuff as was mentioned earlier.Just as a friendly reminder: having good sounds help. Knowing what to do with them is a whole other story. God bless.
