Re: Free Stuff!
That's tough Johnatan, it seems I use it differently on specific things. Also, I always just tweak around with it until it sounds right to me & then never save the setting (yeah, I know, pretty stupid!). I was just using their (kjaerhus audio's) "gold" compressor. I downloaded the trial/demo version but I really don't see anything that isn't functioning . . . mmm . . . it's pretty darn cool too with a lot of daggone tweaks. Maybe we need a whole special forum section for free/cheap plugins!

Re: Free Stuff!
Well, I just did a re-mix of one of the covers I submitted (Crazy Love) and used all free plugins except for Voxengo Lampthruster which is only $60 but worth 4 or 5 times that much IMO. I kind of goofed putting too much delay on the right channel I think, but all of the freebies sound really good. On guitars & bass I used the Kjaerhusaudio Classic Compressor, on vocals I used the Classic EQ, Delay, & Chorus. Also on vocals I used Glaceverb which is a cool free reverb, and the Kjaerhusaudio Gold compressor (free). I also used the Classic eq on the stereo buss along with Endorphin and Lampthruster. Now, let's see if my "thriftstore" song can get forwarded! Here's the link if anyone is interested.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... 7&stream=1

I think it sounds good, the acoustic guitar sounds kinda strange, but I think that's because it's streaming @ 48k. Now all you have to do is see if you can get it screened for free Good job though Steve

Re: Free Stuff!
Thanks Steve. I think the acoustic guitar is a little "dull" because I had to do some pretty major eq cuts to keep it out of the way of the vocals. I wanted the vocals to be way out front but didn't want to get 'em there just by cranking the volume so I just carved out a big whole in everything else.

Re: Free Stuff!
Digital Phishphones? Absolutely! I use Blockfish all day every day and recommend the entire line to anybody that uses VST plugs. An astounding value!Another great freebie is the SSL LMC-1 listen mic compressor; the most gloriously crappy piece of junk ever! Bus a drum submix through it and bring it up under the 'straight' drums, use it to smash a reverb send, I bet it'd be brilliant on some cookie-monster vocals.....see the review here:http://www.mojopie.com/lmc1.htmlFind the plug-in here:http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/ ... ug-ins.asp

Here's my contribution to the FREEBIES. These may or may not be of any use to anyone, but what the heck, they're free. Might be useful in some COMEDY INSTRUMENTALS or something. Enjoy!http://www.dskmusic.com/blog/?page_id=3BTW, thanks for links billg, ed, & mojo. I'll check'em out!I-468
