samples for country fiddle..??

Post by gitarrero » Sun May 04, 2008 9:29 pm

hi folks,I was wondering if there is a (multisample-) library for typical country-fiddle sounds..?"classical" strings don't work for country I think - what would you use (..besides a real player..) for country fiddle-licks?thanks in advance, martin

Martin,Found a couple of loop libraries but I'm not sure about filddle samples:http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... ountry/You might check out East West RA. It has a Hardanger fiddle in it that you might be able to use for country fiddle. I've never tried it but it might work.Good luck pardner!!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

I normally use a violin in the style of play , and then use a DAW with a decent swing setting, then go through and mess with the wave form for style and stuff, its a hassle though
in the time of trumpets and guitars, there was an oboe

I have RA and I think you could easily use some of the fiddles in there. I havent checked out the MOTU Ethno... but I believe there may be some country style fiddles. Best of luck.

Hey Martin, yep there sure is. I have a whole bunch of them, but I can't remember where I got them from........Have used MIDI fiddle before as well, it works well if properly programmed. The following track used MIDI, solo is about half way through........http://iacmusic.com/songs.aspx?SongID=49205...... run through a Roland HQ Orchestra.......http://www.roland.com/products/en/HQ-OR ... programmed by a real violinist, Michael Borges at......http://michaelborges.comIf you want a real or synthesied track, just drop Michael a line, and he should be able to see you right.Otherwise, there are loops, but I'd have to track down the source and get back to you.cheers, niteshift

Hey Martin,Here's those loops. Quality is reduced to mp3, but not bad for the freebies. They have a real rustic tone. I generally use them for fill, but looks like you can get custom tracks made if you need them.http://efiddler.com/loops_country.htmcheers, niteshift

Hey Martin,It's really funny you posted this, I've just been looking for the same thing I ordered Kontakt 3 last week, and it has a fiddle within its collection, so I'm hoping it will be pretty cool...I'll let you know what it sounds like once it arrives.Dan
