Should be a profile view so one could see what type of action I could expect from her. All you keyboard players might not know that IS always the first concern. Next....Ibanez?

Yeah Feaker, but I must say, I've always been envious of the way keyboard players play their organs!

Great way to try out all the different makes eh Geoff.I've never tried a gretsch or a Rickenbacker, but I love the styling and the sound of each.I went to the "Concert for George" at the Royal Albert Hall in 2002, and before the concert started, they had his original acoustic Rickenbacker stood there in centre stage. That was a beautiful guitar!

Yeah, I waited 30 years to get a genuine US Strat.Black, with maple neck, like Eric Claptons - well, one of many!I love it, but I'd also love a Rickenbacker, Gretsch and a Telecaster. Not much of a wish list!By the way, I should have said Semi-Acoustic Rickenbacker.Tom Petty plays one too. A twelve string which has a fantastic sound.I'll try and get a pic of George's and post it later.

Re: Its a love affair
geoff,Never worked at a guitar center, but I'll tell ya' I've spent a helluva lot of money there ever since they first opened one in Chicago. That was back in...not sure when the first one opened, but I think it was before the 1980's store that opened on the north side. I believe the first one that opened was on the south side of Chi, if anybody's familiar.Never played a gretsch or a rickenbacker guitar. I have tried out a rickenbacker bass though. They're excellent for rock and that, but not necessarily the bass of choice for other musical genres. And feak......as far as I know, the action's gotta be tight, or else she just might not be right. It's all about the trill.

It's all about the trill. Here we go again!!Yeah Ibanez, that Rickenbacker bass is a great instrument.Great design.Chris Squire from Yes uses one.Made my bones vibrate when I saw them a few years back.He uses a lot of chords in his solos, and really pumps up that volume.Paul McCartney also used one for some time with Wings.Seems to be back to using his original Hofner violin bass most the time now. You're right though, I've not seen them used much in other areas of music.
