Hey everyone,I started up my macbook pro today to start working and noticed a strange audio problem. Everything I play in Reason or iTunes (both through the built in speakers and my firewire audio interface) has this weird clipping noise where the sound completely cuts out and also lags a little bit.Everything worked fine 24 hours ago. There was an airport extreme update last night that I downloaded and that was the only thing that has changed since the last time I played any audio.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,-Steve

Re: Weird audio problem with Mac
First thing I would check is that your interface is at the same sample rate as the settings in OS audio/midi setup

It could be a sample rate issue, but it's probably just corrupted software. I don't know where that is, but you could start by deleting the file: com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist. Do a search - it's in Library->Preferences.The real solution to this kind of problem is to make incremental backups onto a FireWire drive. When something like this goes wrong, instead of troubleshooting, you just restore your hard drive from the backup and go back to work. I use SuperDuper! from Shirtpocket.com for this.
