Singer/Songwriter Needing Producer(s) OC LA?

Post by daskitso » Sun Mar 02, 2008 11:33 pm

Hi Everyone,I'm posting this message under a few areas to see if I can get an answer. I posted it once a few weeks ago and received exaactly 0 responses. I would like to connect with a Producer or Producers who actually like what I am doing or feel my music rather than just having to hire someone and have to force the chemistry. So if any producers in the Orange County California area or LA are feeling what I have up right now www.taxi.com/daskitso please let me know. I have a lot more as well. I need to record some new stuff and re-record some of the old. Thanks for your time,Bubba

Bubba, As a producer, I get asked to "work" like this from time to time. Basically, you're asking me to work for free right? But, you want me to be commited to your project right? You want someone that's more experienced than you to help take your music to the next level, right? That's what a producer is, right? Do you think that the guys who will work for free have more experience than you? I'm not trying to be snarky... I just want to help you understand what you're asking for from the producer's perspective, and why you aren't going to get too many people (that can actually do what you want) responding to a post like this. I produce records for a living. I've done a lot of them. If I don't charge money for my time then I CAN'T be committed to the project in the least. I've got to bump you out of the studio the minute I get a call for some "real" work. If I'm charging you, you're the most important project I've got going. I want to work hard to give you the best music I can so that you'll hire me again the next time you're ready to do a record, and you'll tell your musician buddies how great of an experience you had working with me. There is no chemistry to force... the chemistry WILL work because that's my job. If you don't like me personally, then you wouldn't hire me. Now then, if you DO find someone willing to work with you for free, more power to you! I'd be skeptical that you'll get what you're really wanting from someone that's doing it on the side, or after their day job.

Hiya, one question... I listened to a few of your songs and I'm wondering why you have gone from uplifting, quite well done big band feel to kinda static white boy rap...No cash for christmas is quite nicely done while I can't say I was feeling your first songs on the list, don't remember names..
