michael,I don't have gold, but if it's anything like silver, you click on the little "down" arrow near the "M" and "S" buttons of the instruments, and then a menu drops down and you choose another instrument, and then it starts to load up. Hope that helps.ibanez468

michael, sounds like something is wrong then. Are you using it as a standalone application or are you using inside of a DAW?ibanez468

Another thing to check is that each slot is set to it's own MIDI channel. The programs may load up saying "OMNI" which means that it will respond to any MIDI information from any MIDI channel. If you use the Load option from the file menu, the program will automatically fill the next available slot (instrument) unless you've already got 8 slots filled. That does not, however, guarantee that it will assign the next available MIDI channel number. Each slot (instrument) should have it's own MIDI channel which is may need to be manually assigned by you once the instrument has loaded. You need to set the MIDI tracks in your sequencer to output the correct channel to the instrument you want to hear. For instance, if you have instrument 3, MIDI channel 3 with a cello loaded, you need to assign a track in your sequencer to Kompakt Player, MIDI channel 3.Sometimes these basic things are confusing at first, there's a lot of variables involved. Some of us have been doing this for a while and we forget that we struggled with basic things at first too. The good news is that all of this knowledge is cumulative and as you go you'll get more comfortable with it.Good luck,Mazz

Mick,It is sometimes hard to analyze someones situation without seeing what they are doing. As you load sounds into Kontact 2 player, each subsequent sound is on a new midi channel (ie. the first sound on channel one, 2nd on channel two etc.)If you are trying to trigger the subsequent sounds from midi channel one all you will hear is the first sound you loaded. Your sequencer track needs to be on channel two to hear the second sound etc.You may be doing this already so apologies in advance if this is too simple a solution.Chuck

Mick,If youmean that in RMX you set up each of the eight parts on a separate midi channel, then the answer is yes.As you add an instrument to the "rack" in Kontact 2 player over to the left of the instrument is a box showing the audio out and midi channel. You can set up layers in Kontact by setting the same midi channel in one or more of the instruments. You can also set up splits. The default is to set the sequential midi channel thing I mentioned in an earlier post.BTW all of this is in the manual for Kontact 2 player. You, however, would not be the first person ever to not consult the manual!!!Chuck
