I needed a little help with this - I was wondering how to correct "slightly loose" audio files in Logic (other than cutting and pasting in the sample editor). Specifically, do you know if there is anything like Protools "beat detective" in logic to help get everything in sync and on the beat? Any other methods that you know of? I'm working on an acoustic guitar piece and trying to tighten it up. Thanks in advance - Anne

Re: Logic equiv. of Beat Detective?
Hi Anne, Logic has the same feature but its implementation is probably different. Logic has what is called "Beat Mapping". It will allow a piece of audio or midi to be conductor and lets you"map" the beat by marking transients and letting that piece of audio set the tempo. So instead of changing the audio in questions tempo, Logic changes the tempo of the song to match the audio or midi file.Of course this is in version 7. In version 8 they have turned this around to change the audio to fit the songs tempo. I have not worked with version 8 feature yet.Look up "Beat Mapping" in the help section of Logic.
