Recoil Stabilizer (Primacoustic)???

Post by bleuciel » Tue Dec 11, 2007 11:04 am

Hi!Is somebody bought and use the Recoil Stabilizers by Primacoustic and is it working for you? It's a kind of isolating board that you put under your monitors and it's supposed to increase a lot the accuracy of any monitors. I think that product isolates your monitors and eliminate the "sound of the walls" and permit you to hear only the sound of monitors, may be I'm wrong. There was an ad for this product in the last issue of Recording Magazine and it is endorsed by many major producers and engineer like Daniel Lanois and others... I plan to buy it and I want the opinion of the real person: the user. Thanks Jean Custeau / bleuciel@mail.com

Hey Jean,They're the bomb. Highly recommended. I've tried them out with two different sets of speakers so far, and the improvement in imaging and low end is really impressive. They're expensive, but totally worth it...Have fun!Justin

I've seen those as well and was wondering how they would do in comparison with the Auralex Mo-Pads which I currently use.I'd say that nothing will completely eliminate the "sound of the walls" except for very well designed walls but at least they will isolate the speakers from the surface they are on, which will allow you to hear the speaker itself, hopefully more uninfluenced by vibrations transmitted and reinforced by things like desks and floors. Thanks for the feedback Justin! Thanks for the question Jean!Mazz

I've been using the Auralex product for about a year and would recommend them. They seem to make a positive difference.

I had another answer to my question. I bought a pair of Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer. It's true. It works perfectly and like their ads and the reply of Justin, The bottom come extremely clear and accurate and the stereo imaging come transparent. You really feel that you hear your monitors instead of all the space of your control room. Jean Custeau / bleuciel@mail.com
