Post by daffsongwriter » Fri Nov 16, 2007 2:46 am

I have recently been to a recording studio (Borninabarn Studio) and I am very pleased with the results, of which, I will be uploading soon.I learnt a lot from the 2 days that I was there and the guys I worked with were brilliant - I would recommend them. Daff

Hey thanks, I learnt a lot in the studio about recording in general but not on the Boss, but having said that, what I have experienced and learnt will be a huge help with BR. Then one thing I might struggle with a tad, is the drumming, so far I have been using what is in my keyboard which is good, but after being at the studio and us doing our own, it would be nice for me to carry on with that. Maybe a drum machine might be a good thing, not had one before so am a tad green on that subject, but it would be nice to not rely soley on the keyboard's rythmn that is prerecorded into it. I am now practising at devising my own drum pattern. What they did say about the Boss machine is that they once had one and found it complicated, I actually disagree, I find it ok, I will stick with it as each time I use it I find something else - I like the phrase trainer. When I am a dab hand with it in time I may part ex it for the 16 track or whatever is around at the time i want to do the change.I did enjoy it at the studio, though it would be really easy to rely on them and get lazy, I should do my own as well ha ha. I have another 4 songs in the making so will concentrate on them at home then in the Spring I may consider a re-visit, another 2 days should be ample as I now know exactly what to do before hand and to take with me to speed it up. They couldnt use the demo I took so we had to build it from scratch by copying my demo. It was interesting and a friend of mine had actually been there prior to me doing the same thing.Might consider getting live drums recorded next time, I have a mate who is happy to have a day in the studio with me so if that comes off that will be good, if not, in the meantime I shall endeavour to see about a drum machine or see how I go on with the new keyboard.Daff xx
