Yeah, I see what you're doing...Even easier... if you click on your cymbal sample with the hand tool (and make sure you click over the beginning of the transient) then the little red line in the timeline will move along with. I do this all of the time. I may not be explaining it well, but I suspect you'll figure it out.Justin

WV, there's a command to do just that. I just do it without thinking, but I believe it's control-click with the grabber hand that moves the head of the region to the cursor. And if I'm right that it's control, then shift-control click moves the tail. Adding option to either of the above moves a copy. That's one of the best features in PT. You can use it to align one region with another, and it's especially useful in conjunction with tab-to-transient - tab to the transient in one track (which moves the cursor to the transient), then use this command to align another piece of audio with that hit.

I always forget about that. Shift-control-click doesn't seem to work... I know there's a command that moves the tail like you said, but I'll have to look it up.Justin

Maybe it's command/control/click. I don't have PT open; again, after all these years in PT I just do it without thinking. They have the key commands online, so you can look it up.

Thanks again! Between your input & help from friends, I'm starting to get a feel for it and am feeling less grumpy...even excited & enthusiastic!WV
