Control Surfaces for Logic or ProTools
Does anyone use a control surface for Logic or Protools and, if so, what do you use?I have a ProjectMix I/O, as I wanted something that would work with both protools and logic, but I'm finding it a bit finnicky. I'm wondering how other people find other types of control surfaces or interfaces (I could go back to my Tascam 122) and how pleased they are with those items - Thanks!

Re: Control Surfaces for Logic or ProTools
Hi Anne,I sequence on MOTU Performer on a Mac, and use a Digi002 for ProTools on a PC. My signal path is quite complicated, so I don't know if this will help you much. It's pretty "old school," but it sounds great!Good Luck!Ern

I use a Mackie Control Universal. It is very good in Logic as it is fully supported. As far as Pro Tools I would think it is supported also. Though I wonder sometimes about Digidesignas they have their own set of problems. That is why I am an EX Pro Tools user.

Re: Control Surfaces for Logic or ProTools
Thanks - after hours on the phone with M-Audio we finally found the solution for my ProjectMix to be less finnicky. Here is the outcome ror anyone with a MacPro and a ProjectMix - don't upgrade to ProTools M-powered 7.3 just yet as there is a driver issue, and use the old driver 1.7.4 for the project mix if you are also using Logic. The issue is in the Logic changeover from recognizing the projectmix as a Mackie Logic Controller - that is the "old" way - and as a Mackie Controller (the new correct way). Apple is fixing the issue. If anyone runs into a problem with Logic / MacPro / ProjectMix feel free to email me and thanks for the help with different controller options!
