what I did on my summer vacation - got "F's"!!
Yes indeedy. Before I left on my vacation, I spent a couple of weeks writing & producing and submitting. My long term goal is to have muti-song deals with several music libraries & publishers. Thus I figure 2008 & 2009 & 2010 will be the push to create broadcast-ready compositions and target my submissions effectively, get forwards, and hopefully sign some more deals. I made 16 submissions in July, and I'm happy to say that exactly 50% of my submissions were forwarded in the month of August - my best 'return' on my 'investment' to date. In a couple of cases, the same piece submitted to different listings was returned and forwarded depending on suitability for the listing (I'm still learning). In one case, the same piece was forwarded to different listings. I also got a couple of great critiques on stuff that's nearly there & some nice feedback on the listings with crits as well.So here's my list.... HIGH SUSPENSE INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an East Coast Music Publisher who has secured dozens of Film/TV placements for TAXI writers over the years. He's looking for a wide variety of styles, but the mood does need to be filled with suspense and edge. He'll be looking for shifts in tone, instrumentation and dynamics throughout each piece. He's open to any arrangement or instrumentation, as long as the tone is right. Excellent performances are absolutely necessary. He wants tracks that are between 1:00 and 3:00 in length, though he may ask for :30 and :60 edits if he wants to sign your material. He doesn't want fadeouts, just clear endings. Broadcast quality is required [excellent-sounding home recordings are OK]. He's looking for left of center, unusual but accessible instrumental selections for a variety of TV projects. While he's looking for a unique sound, he's not interested in a dissonant tone overall. Tracks that are spare are just fine, as long as the mood is bright and fun. Instrumentation is open and arrangement can be explored liberally, but the tracks should be between 1:00 and 3:00 long. If he likes your track and is interested in offering a deal, he may also request :30 and :60 edits. He requests that your pieces have clear endings, no fadeouts. Excellent performances are necessary and the sound quality should be great. Broadcast quality is required.F-Anahit's Dancehttp://www.vikkiflawithmusic.com/audio/VIKKI_F ... ce.m3uF-ET Wedding Songhttp://www.vikkiflawithmusic.com/audio/VIKKI_F ... uF-Trippin 420http://www.vikkiflawithmusic.com/audio/VIKKI_F ... MYSTERIOUS SOUNDING INSTRUMENTALS in a variety of styles are needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher who has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs over the past several years. He's looking for a wide variety of stylistic approaches, but the tone should be similar to what you might hear on "Unsolved Mysteries". He needs tracks that range from orchestral arrangements to cutting edge/current arrangements that set the right tone for a criminal/investigative TV series. The tracks should be between 1:00 and 3:00 long. If he likes your track and is interested in offering a deal, he may also request :30 and :60 edits. He requests that your pieces have clear endings, no fadeouts. Excellent performances are necessary.F-Eye of the Stormhttp://www.vikkiflawithmusic.com/audio/VIKKI_F ... 3uDRAMATIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a huge Production Music Library/Publisher that has signed tons of TAXI writers over the years. This company is preparing to place music in at least three feature films and also needs material for a variety of film/TV/radio/commercial projects. There are no restrictions on the instrumentation or the arrangement, but tone and mood of the overall piece is essential. This company needs music filled with suspense and drama primarily and the performances must be excellent. This is a broadcast quality listing, though great home recordings should be just fine. Pieces should not exceed 4 min. in length and they need to have clear endings - no fadeouts.
